Lilly Allen Sheezus Tour

To be honest I am not really a fan of Lily Allen, of course I know some of her songs some of which I quite like. Lily does not tour much, this is her first tour for nearly 5 years. The price of the tickets were quite reasonable around the £35 mark for unreserved balcony seats.

The audience was a varied mix of people from the very young right up to people who I would not expect to be in the middle of standing area.

The were two warm up acts the first one who was not announced and Fryars who are a 3 piece band, a drummer, keyboard / vocalist and a guitarist. They were ok but nothing spectacular. He did invite people to troll him on Twitter and send him abuse.

Lilly got on stage around 9pm and opened with Sheezus the title track from her latest album.

Lily then performed two classic tracks from her first two albums Not Fair and LDN. Lily performed some tracks from her latest album with URL Badman a particular standout of the first part of the set.

Lily went of a for a very quick change of outfits and came out in a Silver two piece set with a new pair of trainers she had bought earlier that day from Sports Direct in the Bullring she announced to the audience, which went down well.

After the change Lily started with Smile. Later on in the part of the set Lily performed 22 which is a song she wrote about people in their 30's who should not be out. Which she apologized for as she will be 30 next year, which was quite amusing.

As it's nearly Xmas she performed a very soulful version of Somewhere We All Know from the John Lewis Christmas advert from 2013

Lily needed a little help for one of her other tracks, F**k You where she asked if someone knew the words and this chap was helped on stage to perform that track where Lily and the guest did alternate choruses while each other filmed it.

He will remember this night for a very long time.

She finished this part of the set with Or Nah. She left the stage but everyone knew Lily would be coming back on, which she duly did with different outfit and performed Hard Out Here.

With this it was all over, Lily performed for around ninety minutes which seem to go past very quickly. The set was good and Lily's performance was great. much better than I was expecting. Lily left the crowd in good spirits as they left the young and old. I would go and see Lily again, I hope she does don't leave it another 5 years she tours again.
